Biography
Anthony Gallippi saw a need for an electronic payment processing system for the bitcoin currency. Bitcoin is a new financial technology, invented in 2009, as the first peer-to-peer digital currency. Using bitcoin, it is possible to send money like an email - to anyone, anytime, anywhere- without going through a bank or government or corporation. As one of the leading experts on digital currency, Gallippi co-founded his entrepreneurial vision, BitPay, Inc., in 2011.
As a start-up, CEO Gallippi is involved in all of the day-to-day operations at BitPay, including new business development, marketing and customer service. He has 15 years of experience in sales and marketing from working in the Robotics industry. Gallippi uses his knowledge of old and new world banking to help pave the way for a more secure, fast and convenient way of transferring funds between and within payment networks.
Before founding BitPay, Gallippi was District Sales Manager at Aerotech and Regional Sales Manager at Industrial Devices Corporation. He has a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
